IB CHEMISTRY SL
(11-12) Year
Credit: 1.0 Science
Prerequisite: A in Chem I or approval from the IB Chem teacher; completion of Alg II or higher and STEM Chem
This course will follow the International Baccalaureate curriculum for standard level chemistry. Topics range from
simple stoichiometry to organic chemistry. Material in the class will be covered quickly so students should be highly
motivated and well organized. Good problem solving skills are necessary as this course prepares students for the
standard level IB exam. Students may further prepare to take the AP chemistry exam with completion of additional work
done outside of class.
